How BriefScroll uses cookies and local browser storage.
Last updated: 2026-06-07
What cookies are
Cookies and similar storage are small browser records used for sign-in, preferences, security, billing, and basic product operation.
How we use them
- Authentication: Clerk may use cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in and protect your session.
- Preferences: BriefScroll stores choices like theme and language so the app can render consistently.
- Security: cookies, rate limits, and local storage may help detect abuse, protect accounts, and keep forms working.
- Billing: Clerk Billing and Stripe may use required fraud-prevention and payment cookies for paid plans.
- Analytics: planned product analytics should be privacy-conscious and should not use third-party advertising cookies unless the policy and consent flow change.
Managing cookies
You can use browser controls to delete cookies or local storage. Some features may stop working if you remove required auth or preference storage.
BriefScroll should not add advertising cookies unless the privacy policy, consent flow, and vendor list are updated first.
Future changes
If BriefScroll adds nonessential analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies, the cookie notice and any consent controls must be updated before launch.
