Terms of Service

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Zoltico LLC, a New York limited liability company operating under the business name BriefScroll. They apply to BriefScroll's United States website, apps, accounts, and paid plans.

By affirmatively accepting these terms or using BriefScroll after acceptance, you agree to these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy, acknowledge the Privacy Policy, and agree to the recurring plan terms you separately confirm at checkout.

You must be at least 13 to use BriefScroll. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. BriefScroll is not intended for children under 13.

You are responsible for your account, your credentials, and activity under your account. Keep account information accurate and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

You keep your rights in notes, highlights, imports, and other content you add. You grant BriefScroll permission to process that content so the service can operate.

You must have the rights or permission needed for sources, files, URLs, newsletters, and imports you add. Do not use BriefScroll to bypass source restrictions. Shared article links can make article-derived content public while keeping your notes, highlights, identity, collections, and reading state private.

You own the comments you post. By posting a comment, you grant BriefScroll the license needed to store it and show it to other BriefScroll users, together with your chosen display name and the title and link of the article you commented on.

Comments must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. We may hold, hide, or remove comments and may suspend commenting for accounts that violate these terms. Moderation decisions are made at our reasonable discretion.

BriefScroll may display source-provided media URLs from feeds, page metadata, or article HTML. A URL in a feed or page is not a full license by itself.

BriefScroll should not proxy, cache, resize, optimize, transcode, store, or rehost third-party media unless a license, source terms, user rights, or explicit permission allows it.

If you add your own publisher sign-in to a source, you confirm that you hold that subscription and are permitted to use it this way. Only connect a publisher session or add a publisher-issued token for an account you control; accessing paywalled content can be restricted by the publisher's own terms, and you are responsible for following them.

BriefScroll uses the sign-in only to load full articles into your own private library. You can remove it at any time, and we will stop using it on the next refresh.

AI summaries, neutralized headlines, share metadata, answers, and fact checks may be wrong or incomplete. They are provided to help you read and search; they are not professional advice. A fact check is an AI assessment based on the article and your own library — not a ruling on what is true and not a rating of any outlet. When you ask to find evidence for a claim, BriefScroll retrieves attributed snippets from other sources with a direct link so you can judge them yourself; it labels whether each source corroborates, contests, or adds context, but it never issues its own true/false verdict and never scores or rates an outlet. Use citations and source links to check important points yourself.

Paid user and organization subscriptions use Clerk Billing with Stripe payment processing. The checkout shows the price, currency, billing frequency, any trial, taxes where applicable, and the deadline to stop renewal. Unless the checkout says otherwise, subscriptions automatically renew for the same billing period until canceled.

You can cancel online from Billing settings or the linked Clerk account portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and access continues through the paid period unless the checkout says otherwise. Pro includes unlimited ordinary interactive AI use rather than a monthly product meter, subject to fair-use, security, spend, provider-availability, and anti-abuse controls. Automated high-volume use may be throttled or reviewed; a fair-use limit never creates an overage charge or automatic suspension. Payments are non-refundable except where law requires a refund or support@briefscroll.com approves one. We will provide renewal or price-change notices when applicable law requires them.

Your use of BriefScroll must follow the Acceptable Use Policy.

You may stop using BriefScroll at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, create legal or security risk, or harm the service or source providers.

BriefScroll may change, fail, or be unavailable. Keep reasonable backups for important research and independently verify important source material and AI output.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, BriefScroll disclaims implied warranties and limits liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages.

New York law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally must be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York, except where applicable consumer law requires another forum. These terms do not require arbitration and do not waive class-action rights.
