Terms of Service
The beta terms for using BriefScroll, including content, AI, source rights, and planned subscriptions.
Last updated: 2026-06-07
Agreement
These terms are a first-pass draft for a US private beta and use TODO placeholders for legal entity, address, contact, and governing law.
By using BriefScroll, you agree to these terms, the privacy policy, the acceptable use policy, and any plan terms shown at checkout.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 to use BriefScroll. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. BriefScroll is not intended for children under 13.
Accounts
You are responsible for your account, your credentials, and activity under your account. Keep account information accurate and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
Your content and sources
You keep your rights in notes, highlights, imports, and other content you add. You grant BriefScroll permission to process that content so the service can operate.
You must have the rights or permission needed for sources, files, URLs, newsletters, and imports you add. Do not use BriefScroll to bypass source restrictions.
Third-party content and images
BriefScroll may display source-provided image URLs from feeds, page metadata, or article HTML. A URL in a feed or page is not a full license by itself.
BriefScroll should not proxy, cache, resize, optimize, store, or rehost third-party images unless a license, source terms, user rights, or explicit permission allows it.
AI content
AI summaries and answers may be wrong or incomplete. They are provided to help you read and search; they are not professional advice. Use citations and source links to check important points.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid subscriptions are planned through Stripe. Before charging users, BriefScroll must show the price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation path, taxes where applicable, and any trial terms.
Cancellations stop future renewals. Refunds are provided only where required by law unless support approves a refund. Billing terms must be reviewed before paid public launch.
Acceptable use
Your use of BriefScroll must follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using BriefScroll at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, create legal or security risk, or harm the service or source providers.
Disclaimers and liability
BriefScroll is provided as a beta service and may change, fail, or be unavailable. Use it with reasonable backups for important research.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, BriefScroll disclaims implied warranties and limits liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages.
Governing law
Governing law and dispute terms are TODO and must be completed before public launch.
Contact
Questions about these terms should go to TODO support email. Replace this placeholder before launch.
